There are typically three measurements that are used to identify the stator: the \u201coutside diameter\u201d, \u201cinside diameter\u201d, and \u201cstack thickness\u201d. These measurements should ideally be taken using a vernier caliper.<\/span><\/p>\n Outer Diameter (OD)<\/span><\/strong>:<\/strong> This is the diameter of the stator, taken across the outer surface of opposing poles. It should be taken using the external jaws of the caliper:<\/span><\/p>\n Inner Diameter (ID)<\/span><\/strong>:<\/strong> This is the diameter of the inside of the metal stack, taken across the surface of the inner circle of the stator. It is measured on the circular inside core itself from the top surface to the bottom surface, not the outer poles.
