Warehouse Logistic Manager
Position Summary:
- Oversee the day to day flow of operations through direct & indirect positive leadership.
- Accountable for optimum productivity, efficiency, quality, safety, and economy of operations by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel.
- Assume responsibility for shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory accuracy including flow of finished goods from receipt of raw materials to consumption.
- Work closely with manufacturing & sales departments, and general manager.
- Continuously identify physical & systemic process improvements to enable high level of accuracy in the most efficient manner.
Responsibilities:
- Leads the daily management system solving daily non-conformities and evaluation problems to the proper level and evaluates and improves current processes
- Develops operation strategies, objectives and plans to be in tune with growth of business
- Prioritizing short & long term actions and completion of action plans.
- Directs inbound and outbound domestic and international logistics operations, such as transportation, receiving, shipping, and warehouse activities, safety performance, and logistics quality management.
- Manages day-to-day warehouse operations to include receiving, shipping, processing and inventory control, and order entry function
- Manages inventory assets and improve inventory turns. Insure timely and accurate reporting of inventories.
- Ensures appropriate staffing, training, and evaluation of departmental personnel insuring skill levels to meet the needs of the business in the most efficient manner.
- Manages & supervises daily operations of multiple departments & staff to ensure optimum efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of picking, packing, shipping, receiving and inventory management
- Plans, develops, and implements warehouse safety and security programs and activities to ensure inventory is maintained and orders are fulfilled according to deadlines
- Supervises Interviews, selects, trains, and coaches warehouse personnel
- Keeps daily accurate records of shipments and other information as required by business
- Maintains a well-organized, neat and clean distribution center to fulfill all customer orders
Experience/Requirements
- Successful supervisory experience of others and strong leadership and presence.
- Computer literate and proficient in Word and Excel, Fishbowl Inventory software a plus
- Knowledge & experience with UPS WorldShip, USPS Click-n-Ship & DHL
- Must be hands-on and have the ability to work Independently and in a Team Environment
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to work with all levels of internal management and staff to solve complex problems and facilitate solutions
- Must pay attention to detail and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
- Fork-truck certification a plus
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment; Ability to problem solve; Must be a quick learner and able to work under pressure; Manage multiple tasks, with the competence to plan and execute strategic plans.
Physical Demands:
- Requires frequent walking or standing for prolonged periods of time
- Regularly requires a great deal of visual concentration to read tags & labels
- Frequently requires bending, squatting, or climbing a stool/ladder to check work done
- Requires the ability to lift 50+ lbs and load/unload deliveries
